What the pack is
A preparation aid. The complainant answered a guided questionnaire and produced a draft statement in their own words. It isn't sworn until they sign it before a commissioner of oaths, and you can take the statement in whatever form your procedures require, using the draft as a source.
| Part | Where it comes from | How far to rely on it |
|---|---|---|
| Draft statement | The complainant's answers, arranged into numbered paragraphs. Software helps with the wording; the complainant confirms every paragraph. | As the complainant's account. Paragraphs are linked to their answers; nothing is added that they didn't say. |
| Annexure A — payment schedule | Crypto payments looked up on the public blockchain (Bitcoin, Ethereum and ERC-20, Tron and TRC-20). Bank payments as stated by the complainant. | Rows marked "Verified on blockchain" were read directly from chain data, with the source and time of the lookup — not typed by the complainant. Other rows are as the complainant stated them. The status column shows any difference that remained. |
| Annexure B — evidence index | Files the complainant uploaded, each with a SHA-256 fingerprint | The fingerprint lets you confirm a copy you receive is the same file that was listed. |
| Notes for the investigating officer | Items the complainant couldn't provide | Marked as gaps, not filled with guesses. |
| Document code | A code derived from the pack's contents | Enter it at report.cryme.co.za/verify to confirm the pack came from this service and which version it is. |
Checking a transaction yourself
Every crypto transaction in Annexure A has a transaction ID (TXID). You can look it up independently on a public block explorer for that network to confirm the date, amount and receiving address. The schedule records which data source was used for each check and when.
Tracing where the funds went after the complainant's payment is not part of the pack. That is forensic work, done on request.
Useful for your requests
- Receiving wallet addresses and the network they're on
- The exchange or wallet the complainant sent from, and the transaction IDs that exchange will hold records for
- Bank accounts, phone numbers, usernames, websites and other identifiers the complainant reported
- A timeline of first contact, payments and discovery, which helps with the place and time of the offence
